  • Celebrate Recovery

Living in a broken world, we all deal with life’s hurts, hang-ups, and habits. No one has the ability to face hurts on their own nor should they attempt to. Celebrate Recovery is a beautiful community of individuals that courageously enter this safe and beautiful space to get honest about our pain and the negative ways we may see ourselves, God and others. In this process, we come to accept that some of the habits we have developed to escape our pain have caused destruction in our life and in the lives of those close to us.

Celebrate Recovery is a biblically balanced approach to help bring sustainable recovery and healing to us. It guides us toward new healthy truths and life-giving habits as we repair our broken relationships. Join more than 7 million hurting people across the globe who now walk in freedom through the power of Jesus Christ as we walk through the 8 principles of Celebrate Recovery based on the Beatitudes in Matthew 5.

    My Calling:

I was a 22 yr old nursing student when I attended Urbana in 2000.

Traveling in a church van loaded up with Hope College students, we were eager to learn about God’s global mission and seeking to find our place in it. We were moved by testimonies of Christians serving God around the world. It was at Urbana that I sensed God inviting me to live and work in a Native American community in NM after I graduated. I also sensed God telling me that he did not call me into nursing for my glory, but for his glory. This stuck with me and 2 years later when I was invited to join InterVarsity staff to work with nursing students, I remembered these words. I moved to Chicago to serve nursing students at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Join me in praying that students today would attend Urbana 25 Dec 28-31) and answer God’s call to join his global mission – close to home or around the world

InterVarsity’s Graduate Healthcare Ministries equips today’s healthcare students and faculty to follow Jesus together while participating in God’s healing work in the world.

  • Transformation Church Belgium

Missionary Julius Hagan was born and raised in Ghana and came to know Jesus just before he entered college. From there, his entire world changed.

Julius recognized the powerful hope found in Jesus Christ, and he became grieved to learn that so many villages were without a single church. Julius began to ready himself to tell the Gospel to these unreached communities around him. It wasn’t long before he received his first opportunity while visiting a college friend on break.

Julius prayed for a sick woman in the village he was visiting, and when that man was healed, the whole town wanted to know-how, and Julius told them. From one church plant, fourteen other churches were birthed, and Julius became impassioned to continue what Paul states in Romans 15:20,

The Lord opened doors for Julius to receive the Billy Graham Scholarship at Wheaton College, where he finished his Masters in Evangelism and Leadership.

Through God’s grace in scripture and discipleship, Julius learned that nothing could prevent us from being powerful disciple makers for the King of Kings. With the guidance of God, Julius headed the Lord’s call and ventured from there into greater Europe, currently, in Belgium, where he and his lovely bride “accidentally” planted a church that serves the Flemish, Ukrainian and people from about 6 other Nationalities.

Julius has a strong passion for proactive disciple making and enjoys connecting with college students. Julius believes, “that true Christlike transformation happens when one life robs upon another.” Thus, their ministry continues to seek ways to connect with and contribute their part in reaching Europe with the Gospel of Jesus as they depend on God’s grace to make Christlike Disciples who make Disciples who like Jesus in Europe.

As someone who grew up in a majority Muslim neighborhood in Africa, Julius has a big heart for reaching Muslims in Europe with the Grace and Love of Jesus. An area he and his team are currently exploring.
