“How Close Do You Dare Step?”
John 20:1-18
Three disciples witness the resurrection from three distinct perspectives–
1- Mary Magdalene- a “distant” viewpoint
-she came to the tomb early but observed from a distance
2- John- he got “close”
– he came running right up to the entrance of the tomb, but didn’t go in
3- Peter- he took a more “direct approach”
– Peter was a “plunger” and jumped right in.
All three are Christian heroes, each observing the empty tomb from a different point of view, but all three point to the one, true story. The tomb was empty. Jesus rose from the dead. He is risen!
